The Springs Wildlife Preserve

Departure times: 10 am, 11 am, 1 pm, 2 pm, 3 pm, 4 pm

(departure from the lobby 15 minutes before each tour)

In conjunction with the MINAE (Ministry of the Environment and Energy) we operate a preserve for Costa Rican wildlife that has either been confiscated from poachers or donated by other private preserves or individuals.



We currently care for:

  • 2 Pumas (Puma concolor)
  • 7 Ocelots (Leopardus pardalis)
  • 3 Margays (Leopardus wiedii)
  • 1 Jaguarundi (Puma yagouaroundi)
  • 1 Kinkajou (Potos flavus)
  • 4 Grey Foxes (Urocyon cinereoargenteus)
  • 8 Capuchin Monkeys (Cebus capucinus)
  • 5 Spider Monkeys (Ateles geoffroyi)
  • 10 Common Marmosets (Callithrix jacchus)
  • 2 Pacas (Cuniculus paca)
  • 1 Crocodile (Crocodylus acutus)
  • 2 Two-toed Sloths Choloepus hoffmanni)
  • 2 Keel-billed Toucans (Ramphastos sulfuratus)
  • 2 Black-mandible Toucans (Ramphastos swainsonii)

In the coming weeks will be opening the our own crocodile exhibit. It is anticipated that 4 male crocodiles are coming from Cañas, located in Guanacaste.
