Five Reasons Why You Should Choose The Springs Resort & Spa

We want you to have the greatest vacation experience possible and we feel that our Day Visitor Package offers considerably more than other local hot springs for the following reasons:

  1. Superior View of the Volcano and Valley.  We are located on a high mountain ridge that allows for an eye-level view of the entire volcano (from base to top) along with the surrounding mountains and the valley below.  On a clear day the view extends for over 25 miles.  Even when the volcano summit is cloudy you still have an unbelievable view of the mountain range and valley.  The other hot springs in the area are located at the base of the volcano (most within the government declared danger zone) and they only have a view looking up to the top of the volcano, so when the top is cloudy they have no view at all.

  2. Various Pool Temperatures.  Clearly no one wants to sit in 104˚F hot water for a prolonged period on a 90˚F sunny day. At The Springs Resort and Spa when it comes to bathing experiences we are all about options.  In the Las Lagunas pool area alone we have eleven pools with seven different temperatures, and at Perdido Springs we have eight pools with eight different temperatures.  Our Laguna Pool Bar has an ideal regulated temperature of between 88˚F and 90˚F for enjoying cocktails without sweating or getting cold on either sunny days or rainy nights.  All of these pools are in close proximity to each other so it is easy to hop from one to the other.  We also have a misting system and cold water showers around the edge of our hot water pools allowing you a refreshing blast of cool water while soaking in the hot water.

  3. Four Dining Experiences and Five Bars- Unlike other local hot springs that offer limited dining options, generally a basic buffet without a view of the Volcano; we offer four restaurants (Fine Dining, Gourmet Buffet, Sushi and Pool Grill), all with a picture perfect view of the Volcano and Valley.  Of our five bars, only one bar, Los Perdidos, does not have a view of the volcano because it is located in an incredible rain forest setting surrounded by waterfalls.

  4. More Space to Spread out and Relax.  Whether you are interested in basking in the sun or relaxing in a hammock in the shade we offer an extensive area of sun and shade terraces surrounding our pool areas with comfortable lounges, rocking chairs and hammocks, all with a perfect view of the volcano.  The other area hot springs give you just the option of sitting in the hot water or on the edge of the hot water, or fighting for one of the few lounge chairs.

  5. Cooler Air Temperatures and Prevailing Breezes.  The Arenal Valley can get extremely hot on a sunny day and that is why we are pleased to be located five hundred feet above the valley plateau on a mountain ridge in the path of the prevailing breezes.  The name “Arenal” is an indigenous word meaning “Window of the Wind” because of the prevailing breezes created by the differential pressures of the Pacific and Caribbean Oceans.  All of the other local hot springs are located down in the valley and are not able to take advantage of these breezes.  With an average daytime high temperature of 80˚F in the shade and nighttime lows averaging 70˚F, you are sure to enjoy countless comfortable hours sipping a frothy cocktail in one of our spring pools or dining al fresco at one of our restaurants.
